What a gorgeous couple of weeks we are
having! I can't remember the last time we had a series of days in the 80's in
August. Usually it is scorching this time of year, so those of us who make our
living outside are truly grateful. We have also gotten some much needed rain
this year, so hopefully most of your plants have survived and are starting to
look a little perkier...
The headlines from the twenty-three year
old newspapers are funny. “Retail centers drift further west on Kingston
Pike,” one reads. If they had only known! When it opened, twenty-two years
ago, the shops at Franklin Square were
trendsetters. Lovell Road
and Campbell Station were still two lane roads. Grigsby Chapel Road was not paved yet and
no one had ever heard of Hardin
Valley...

Al DelGreco kicked a football
through the uprights with enough consistency to earn the nickname "Automatic
Al" during a 17-year NFL career. It
all started when the Green Bay Packers signed the Auburn
standout as a free agent just before Thanksgiving in 1984. DelGreco also played
for the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Oilers and made key contributions to the
Tennessee Titans Super Bowl season in 1999...
