Lola B's unique styleLola B's has women's clothing that owner Deena Sukenik describes as "classically chic."  Open just two years, if you haven't visited yet, you should. She carries sizes 2 to 10 with a few size 0's. Deena majored in fashion merchandising, then became a flight attendant for American Airlines for 10 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom for another 10 years. Her husband Bob says her life revolves in 10 year increments. But it might be that she turned 40 the same year that she opened Lola B's. How does a store owned by a woman named Deena get a name like Lola B's?...

Liz-Beth And Co. ArtWe have one piece of advice for anyone considering visiting Liz-Beth & Co. for the first time: Leave all your preconceived notions about art galleries at the door before stepping inside. A casual stroll through the company's 10,000-square-foot retail space on Park West Blvd. takes you on a journey through a visual wonderland, where new adventures in color, shape and texture lurk around each corner. Jones and Lee SupplyInterior designers say that one of the biggest mistakes people make when building their dream house is to make lighting an afterthought, something that is added after they have picked out flooring and other custom treatments. "Why would you spend thousands of dollars on cabinets, tile and wall treatments if you can't see them properly?" asks Bill Smith, branch manager of Jones & Lee Supply, Knoxville's newest home lighting gallery. "Lighting is a factor that should be addressed on the front end of the project, planned and designed into the overall look of the home in advance of or in conjunction with other decorating decisions..."

intro-2007-08-exact-tile.jpgExact Tile, Inc. isn't the biggest supplier of tile and floor coverings in the Knoxville area, but they are undoubtedly one of the best. The company, founded by Zac Redmond, is currently one of the most requested suppliers and installers of tile in many of East Tennessee's finest custom homes. A winner of the first place design award at this year's Knoxville Homebuilders' Show, Exact Tile's craftsmanship is also frequently found in the local Parade of Homes each year and was featured in the 2004 Symphony Showcase House. "We also did the tile work in five of the upscale restaurants in Turkey Creek," Redmond said. Shoooz! and MoreShoooz and More opened mid-April in the heart of historic, downtown Sweetwater. It's more a shoe boutique than a store. There are no hard benches to sit on here. There's a love seat and a pair of overstuffed chairs. Owner Patty Rogers wants you to be comfortable. And if you happen into her store on a Saturday, you'll find refreshments waiting for you. Picture yourself relaxing on a comfortable sofa with tea and something sweet while you're completely surrounded by shoes. Sounds good, doesn't it? (In fact, you may have had a dream like this.)...

intro-2007-07-lily-pad.jpgTwenty-nine years ago, accompanied by only a dream and an open line of credit, Brenda Bryan made a trip to Atlanta, to the largest apparel market in the Southeast. It would forever change her life. Her dream was to begin a partnership with her customers by bringing functional and fashion-forward merchandise to the area not just for a size 2, but for every-sized woman who cares about her appearance. It's been an interesting journey that has brought The Lily Pad Boutique to where it is now in the heart of the historic downtown Sweetwater area. Sandwiched in a valley rich with gorgeous lakes and mountains....
