Pumpkintown showcases the rich cultural history of East Tennessee with traditional and contemporary arts, heritage crafts, bluegrass music, food, dance and much more....

Along the streets of beautiful historic downtown Athens will be the work of many fine regional Artists and Heritage Craftspeople will be demonstrating their skills so we can marvel at the beauty of the handmade item. Abe Lincoln will be walking around, and a Suffragette will remind us of our history from a soap box. On two stages, organizers welcome back favorites Reliance, Hiwassee Ridge, and Dalton Roberts with Red Bird Clingan as part of the musical entertainment roster this year's festival. There will be old fashioned games, Storytelling, Cherokee culture demonstrations, music and dance, Revolutionary war re-enactors, Historical Walking Tours, a lecture on Underground Railroad Quilts. to mention a few highlights. At Knight's Park, children will ride ponies, get their faces painted, go into the Butterfly Flutter Barn for a unique nature experience, and they'll enjoy the Children's Clothesline Art Show.  The wonderfull fall produce and decorations on Pumkin Peddlers Lane, an antique car & tractor show, antique stagecoach rides, along with plenty of delicious food choices from hot dogs to traditional beans with corn cakes, are sure to provide a great day of fun and education for the entire family!

Event hours are 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.  Admission is free!
